My name is Luke Stollings. I currently live and work in Quito, Ecuador as a middle school teacher of Math and Science, but in some ways my first love is language and words. Because I have lived several years in Spanish-speaking countries, I speak Spanish as well as English and this has deepened and broadened my fascination with language by adding a comparative component and drawing me even more into etymology.
Since I also love science and technology (I studied biology in college), I’m also fascinated with how language is acquired, how it works in terms of neurobiology, and particularly neurolinguistics.
Finally, I’m fascinated with word play, and how humor “works.” I’m sure it’s the death of humor to metacogitate about it, but I’m irresistibly drawn anyway.
